FAQ

  • Which boat is best for us?
    • It will depend on four main factors:

      - Skippered or bareboat charter
      - Budget
      - Group size
      - Boat type (motorboat, RIB, yacht, sailing boat,...)

Our charter brokers will find the best boat for you taking into consideration your needs and boat availability. Contact us via email, by telephone or by visiting our office located on the sea front at Marina Botafoch.

  • There are more than 12 people in our group. Which is the best boat for us?
    • According to Spanish law a boat can carry a maximum of twelve people plus crew. In the case of a group of more than twelve people, it is best to rent two or three boats. Once you have reached your destination, the boats can drop anchor close to each other, bringing the group together. If the group is more than twenty in size we recommend you rent a schooner or catamaran for groups.

  • Do I have to book in advance?
    • Chartered boats are highly sought after; therefore it is best to book your charter as far in advance as possible to insure the widest range of boats available. Booking in advance also allows us to reserve you a table at the best restaurants and the opportunity to give you a bespoke package with onboard catering, seabobs, paddle surf, wakeboard and other extras.

  • How can I book?
    • Once the most suitable boat has been found, 50% of the total charter cost needs to be paid in advance. This payment can be made with a credit card or bank transfer. Fifteen days prior to the charter or the same day (depending on the boat) the rest of the payment should be settled before setting off.
  • What things can I do on a day charter?
    • Our yacht charter brokers know all about the island and about our boats. Depending on the weather forecast we will recommend you go to one area or another. A lot of people go to Formentera to sail along the coast and to taste quality Mediterranean cuisine in one of the amazing restaurants; others have onboard catering to enjoy their boat to the maximum.

We recommend that you don’t make too many plans for just one day. Enjoy the views, relax and take it easy as you get to know the coastline.

Most of our clients choose to charter a boat to relax, enjoy nature and its transparent waters, dive, sunbathe and enjoy the company of those they are with. Who wouldn’t choose to leave behind their stressful city life to submerge themselves in the peace and quiet of the coasts of Ibiza and Formentera?

  • What is included in the price?
    • This will depend on the type of boat you charter. Our agents will give you all the details you need.

In most cases the price includes:

      - Mooring at departure marina
      - Skipper
      - Towels
      - Complimentary refreshments
      - Cleaning

      Not included:

      - Fuel
      - Moorings in other marinas
      - Service charge/tips

  • How are fuel costs calculated and how are they paid?
    • In most cases (depending on the type of boat):

      - Bareboat charter: the fuel tank will be full on departure. On arrival at the port the tank will be filled up and the cost of the fuel consumed must be paid.

      - Skippered boats
: the cost will be calculated at an hourly rate. Depending on the number of hours the boat has cruised, fuel cost will be greater or smaller. We normally ask for a fuel deposit of two hours to be paid in advance. If more fuel is used, the additional costs must be paid, if less fuel is used the appropriate amount will be reimbursed

In some cases fuel is paid directly to one of our agents. At other times the payment will be made to the boat’s skipper on arrival at port..

  • Can our children cruise with us?
    • Yes, the great majority of our boats are suitable for children. We ask you advise us of the age of the youngest child in your group in order to recommend an appropriate boat to guarantee their security and your peace of mind.
  • Can I take my own food and drinks on board?
    • We offer bespoke charter packages with all your needs in mind so you can take your own food and drink on board, order one of our delicious onboard menus or, if you prefer, go to a restaurant. The choice is yours but please check with us about what each boat can offer before making your decision.
  • What time does the charter begin and end?
    • This depends on the type of boat and the time of year. The majority of boats are available from 10 am and need to be back at port before sunset. If you wish to enjoy the sunset on board, please speak to us.
  • Can I make any special requests?
    • Yes, you can make more than one! We have been working in the sector for more than 30 years and we have met a myriad of different requests from marriage proposals, weddings on board to ones as simple as taking passengers from their accommodation to the port of Ibiza.
  • Can I sleep on board?
    • Yes, but it will depend on the type of boat chartered and the number of passengers who wish to stay the night. Overnight stays are normally permitted on charter boats which are more than 16 metres in length and some have an additional cost for night stays.

When a client wishes to stay the night on board it is customary to request 30% of the total cost in advance (as a deposit) called the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). This is standard in the rental of superyachts and also applies to smaller boats. The APA covers the cost of fuel, food, moorings and other costs that aren’t included in the charter tariff. At the end of the trip the full costs are calculated. If the full cost is higher than the APA then you will pay the difference, if the amount is lower, you will be reimbursed with the appropriate amount.
